Chandrababu Orders Suspension of CI Nagaraju Amidst Allegations
Impartial Investigation by Senior IPS Officer; Strict Action Against Those Responsible
Chief Minister Chandrababu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan conducted a high-level review regarding the disappearance of Saikrishna, an incident that has caused a stir across the state. Upon returning from his Singapore tour, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu proceeded directly to the Secretariat. Prioritizing law and order and public safety, he immediately summoned top police officials and held an extensive discussion with Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan on the current situation. During the meeting, senior officials briefed the CM and Deputy CM in detail about the facts of the case and the actions taken by the police department so far.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu ordered immediate disciplinary action against Circle Inspector (CI) Nagaraju, who is facing serious allegations in connection with the incident. Taking into account the negligence in duty and the gravity of the allegations, the CM directed senior police officials to suspend CI Nagaraju immediately. He made it clear that no one—regardless of their position—would be spared if they violated the law or acted irresponsibly. The Chief Minister has decided that the facts surrounding the disappearance of Saikrishna must be uncovered as quickly as possible and that the case should be investigated by a senior IPS officer.
He directed the police leadership to conduct an absolutely impartial investigation, free from any political or external pressures. CM Chandrababu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan emphasized that ensuring justice for the victims is the government’s primary duty and asserted that those responsible for the incident—as well as anyone else involved, regardless of their stature—must face severe punishment.
Chief Secretary Sai Prasad, State Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta, Intelligence Chief Mahesh Chandra Laddha, and Vijayawada Police Commissioner Rajasekhar Babu, among others, participated in this urgent high-level review meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Office.
