Ensure timely completion of Amaravati capital project works giving priority to quality:CM

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to speed up construction of Amaravati capital city works to ensure that every project is completed within the stipulated timelines. Stressing that the guiding principles for the capital works should be speed, quality and timely delivery, the Chief Minister said that although the pace of work has improved compared to the past, it needs to be enhanced further.
Addressing representatives of construction agencies during a review meeting at Secretariat on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that executing works in the State capital is a prestigious opportunity and urged all contractors to make the best use of it. He assured them that the government is committed to ensure there are no financial constraints and made it clear that delays in execution would not be acceptable.The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of 95 projects being undertaken in Amaravati at an estimated cost of Rs 50,999 crore. He instructed officials and contractors to achieve a minimum monthly work progress of 7.92 percent. He also directed all departments and senior officials to work in close coordination to resolve issues related to land acquisition, fund mobilisation, statutory approvals and project designs.
Emphasising a broader vision for the capital region, the Chief Minister said Amaravati should not be viewed merely as a cluster of 29 villages but as an integrated urban region along with Vijayawada and Guntur. Infrastructure development, he said, should be planned and executed accordingly across these areas.Alongside road construction, the Chief Minister called for greater emphasis on increasing green cover throughout the capital region. He also announced that he would personally monitor the progress of Amaravati’s development works on a regular basis.
