విజయవాడ ప్రజల సమస్యలు ఈ ప్రభుత్వం పట్టించుకున్న దాఖలాలు లేదన్నారు. విజయవాడ నగర ఎన్నికలు జరిగితే వచ్చే నిధుల పైనా ఉన్న ఆసక్తి నగరంలో సమస్య ల పరిష్కారం ఫై లేదని ఆరోపించారు. ఇన్నేళ్లుగా విజయవాడ నగరానికి ఈ ముఖ్యమంత్రి చేసిందేమిటో చెప్పాలని ప్రశ్నించారు. వైసీపీ జగన్ ప్రతిపక్ష హోదా లేకున్నా కనీసం ప్రజా సమస్యల ఫై పోరాడే పరిస్థితి లేదన్నారు. రెండు పార్టీ ల నాయకులు కలిసి దోచుకుంటున్నారన్నారు. విజయవాడ లో పేదల ఆస్తులు కబ్జాలకు గురైతే ఎవరికి చెప్పుకోవాలో తెలియటంలేదని, తాను మేయర్ అయితే పేదల పక్షాన కబ్జాలను అడ్డుకుంతమన్నారు.

ఎన్నికలకు కనీస సమయం కూడా లేకుండా 8 రోజుల్లో ముగించి కొత్తవారికి అవకాశం లేకుండా కుట్ర చేసారన్నారు. ఈ వ్యవహారం ఫై జగన్ నోరు మెదపకపోవటం పై విమర్శించారు. గత ప్రభుత్వం నామినేషన్ లు వేయనివ్వలేదని ప్రజలు టీడీపీ కూటమికి అవకాశం ఇస్తే కూటమి కూడా అదే తరహా లో వ్యవహారిస్తే ప్రజలు తగిన బుద్ది చెప్తారన్నారు.

జగన్ ఫిష్ కాంటీన్ పెడితే బాబు బెజవాడ ఎయిర్పోర్ట్ ను చేపల ఎగుమతికి కార్గో కు వాడతారని చెప్తున్నారన్నారు. డబ్బు రాజకీయాలు చేయనన్నారు. మేయర్ గా గెలిపిస్తే రూపాయి కూడా ప్రజాదనం అవినీతి జరుగనివ్వనన్నారు. బుడమేరు ముంపు బాధితులకు 600 కోట్లు విరాళాలు రాష్ట్ర ప్రజలు ఇస్తే ఏమి చేసారో చెప్పలేదన్నారు. బుడమేరు సమస్య ఇప్పటికి ఉందన్నారు.

AB Venkateswara Rao as Independent Mayoral Candidate for Vijayawada Corporation

AB Venkateswara Rao, an independent mayoral candidate for the Vijayawada Corporation elections—backed by the Congress, Left parties, and various civil society organizations—held a cordial meeting to rally support for the ‘INDIA bloc’ coalition’s corporator candidates. Since his retirement, he has entered public life, becoming a strong voice for the issues faced by the people of Andhra Pradesh and exerting pressure on the government to find solutions.

The event, held at Sri Rama Function Hall in Vijayawada, was attended by leaders from the ‘INDIA bloc’ parties and representatives of civil society organizations. They urged the public to ensure the victory of AB Venkateswara Rao as Mayor, along with the ‘INDIA bloc’ candidates for corporator positions. Leaders from the Congress, Left parties, and civil society groups emphasized that Vijayawada needs a leader like AB Venkateswara Rao—someone characterized by courage, honesty, commitment, and the willingness to question authority. They pledged to work toward his electoral success.

Speaking on the occasion, mayoral candidate AB Venkateswara Rao remarked: that there is no evidence to suggest that the current government has taken any notice of the problems faced by the people of Vijayawada. It was alleged that there is more interest in the funds that would flow following the Vijayawada city elections than in actually resolving the city’s problems. A question was raised as to what the current Chief Minister has actually done for Vijayawada over all these years. It was noted that the YSRCP, led by Jagan, is failing to even advocate for the public’s concerns, despite its role as the opposition. It was further claimed that leaders from both parties are colluding to exploit the city. People whose properties—specifically those belonging to the poor—have been seized or encroached upon do not know whom to turn to; it was promised that if elected Mayor, they would stand by the poor and put an end to such land grabbing.

Criticism was leveled at the fact that the entire election process was compressed into just eight days—leaving no reasonable time for the exercise—which appears to be a calculated conspiracy to prevent new candidates from participating. Jagan was also criticized for remaining silent on this entire affair. It was pointed out that if the current alliance—which came to power after the previous government prevented the filing of nominations—resorts to the same tactics, the public will surely teach them a fitting lesson.

The state of the Election Commission was described as dire, with the suggestion that the Election Commission of India is in a similarly poor condition. Chandrababu Naidu was criticized, with the warning that his own wickedness would eventually consume him. It was stated that senior figures are now speaking out, unable to remain silent in the face of such injustice, and that it is essential to protect democracy. A pledge was made to the people of Vijayawada to resolve their grievances.

A commitment was made to take responsibility for the city’s development. Chandrababu Naidu, who often boasts about building Hyderabad and Hitech City, was challenged to explain what he has actually done for Vijayawada. The government has spent crores on cities like Tirupati and Vizag; what did Vijayawada do to deserve such neglect? I will question the injustice done to Vijayawada. After the state bifurcation, 500 crore rupees were allocated for an underground drainage system in 2015—where did those funds go? There has been no answer.

The funds meant for the underground drainage system, which the state government has siphoned off, must be recovered. How can you even set foot in Vijayawada after stealing its funds? Officials have acted high-handedly and plundered the city. We will stand by the small and large business owners of Vijayawada. I have the courage and the guts to confront the misdeeds of the ruling party’s workers. MLAs and former MLAs from the alliance are colluding to loot the city. I will protect the victims from land grabbers. We will beautify the neighborhoods where the poor reside, remove illegal encroachments, and transform these areas into hubs that provide livelihood opportunities for the underprivileged. There is a conspiracy to shut down the Vijayawada (Bezawada) Airport; the citizens of Vijayawada must fight and prevent this.

While Jagan talks about setting up ‘fish canteens,’ it is being suggested that ‘Babu’ (Chandrababu Naidu) intends to use the Vijayawada Airport as a cargo hub for exporting fish. I will not engage in ‘money politics.’ If elected as Mayor, I will ensure that not a single rupee of public money is lost to corruption. He questioned what was done with the ₹600 crore in donations contributed by the people of the state for the victims of the Budameru floods, noting that the Budameru issue remains unresolved to this day.

He emphasized that the people need a leadership characterized by independence, courage, and a strong backbone. He promised that if elected, they would abolish the 15% value-added tax (VAT) system. He mentioned that he has known the alliance candidate, Vangaveeti Radha, for the past 15 years. He stated that because of their friendship, he would not make personal criticisms against Radha, and that Radha, in turn, would not speak about him personally. He clarified that this is a political contest, not a personal vendetta.

He described their campaign as “DJ-free” and “noise-free.”
He assured that they would conduct their campaign in a peaceful environment for the city’s residents. He remarked that the mobile phone is their weapon, and the intellect is the battlefield—with the campaign being driven through mobile phones. He framed this election as a “battle for survival” for Vijayawada (Bejawada).

A.B. Venkateswara Rao stated that the people of Vijayawada have a great opportunity—and are fortunate—to elect corporator candidates from the INDIA bloc parties and me as an independent Mayor as a viable alternative. He added that the people of Vijayawada now have the chance to choose a leadership with real mettle.
He expressed that he considers it a great honor to provide leadership to the city of Vijayawada.

At this event, former minister Vadde Sobhanadreeswara Rao, CPM leader Babu Rao, CPI leader Eswaraiah, along with Congress leaders, representatives of various public organizations, and others, were present.
