The State Women’s Commission responded promptly on Friday to the rape of a minor girl in Chirayanam village of Katrenikona mandal of Konaseema district. She asked for the details of the incident and entered the field seriously. In this regard, the members of the commission spoke to Karri Jayashreeddy Konaseema District SP. The antecedents of the case were known. She asked to direct the lower level staff to act without delay in arresting the rapists.
Actions should be taken to ensure strict punishment to the criminals with a transparent investigation of the case. Jayashreeddy requested that a comprehensive investigation report on this incident be reported to the Women’s Commission. The SP explained that a case was registered under FOXO Act based on the complaint about the incident and Amalapuram DSP Madhava Reddy and Mummidivaram CI Janakiram went to the village and conducted investigation. The SP said that the culprits have already been arrested. Jayashree Reddy asked the officials of Amalapuram Women and Child Welfare Department to provide appropriate medical treatment to the victim.
