YSRCP’s Smear Campaign on Mega DSC Insults Hardworking Candidates: MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao

TDP Politburo member and MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao strongly condemned the YSRCP’s malicious propaganda against the Mega DSC recruitment, calling it a direct insult to the hard work and dedication of all the selected candidates. Addressing a press conference at the TDP Central Office on Tuesday, he stated that former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who failed to conduct a single DSC during his five-year tenure, has lost the moral right to even speak about teacher recruitments. He accused the opposition leader of playing cheap politics with the futures of unemployed youth just to cover up his own administrative failures.
Drawing a sharp contrast between the two administrations, the MLA reminded the media that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu made the Mega DSC his very first signature upon taking office, bringing immediate hope to thousands. Jagan’s tenure, on the other hand, was marked by massive corruption within the APPSC. Rao alleged that under the YSRCP rule, RDO posts were sold for Rs. 30 to 60 lakhs, while DSP posts went for anywhere between Rs. 60 lakhs and Rs. 1 crore. This rampant corruption eventually led to senior officials like P.S.R. Anjaneyulu going to jail and disciplinary action being taken against Gautam Sawang. Because Jagan’s regime was steeped in such irregularities, Rao argued, he is now desperately trying to project his own corrupt mindset onto the alliance government’s transparent recruitment process.
The TDP leader pointed out that despite promising an annual job calendar and a Mega DSC before the 2019 elections, Jagan delivered absolutely nothing. Now, his party and affiliated media are actively harassing genuine candidates. Rao specifically highlighted the case of V. Chakrapani Reddy, a retired military officer who secured a job through sheer hard work, only to be intimidated and mentally harassed by a reporter from Sakshi TV. Calling out the opposition’s bluff, Rao stated that the TDP has the complete data of all successful candidates and challenged Jagan Mohan Reddy to an open debate. He even offered to visit the candidates’ homes together with the media to prove their merit.
Rao also heavily criticized Jagan’s ignorance regarding the sports quota, particularly his derogatory comments referring to the game of Bridge as “gambling.” He clarified that Bridge is officially recognized under the Central Government’s sports quota guidelines. Several candidates worked hard to secure jobs under this category, including Erripalli Sravan Kumar who secured the 51st rank, Samudam Prudhvi Raj with the 157th rank, Eriganaboina Srinivasulu at 86th, and T. Vijayalakshmi at 644th. The MLA explained that merit certificates are issued by the respective national sports associations based on talent, not by SAAP or the state government, making YSRCP’s allegations completely baseless. He drew a sharp comparison between IT Minister Nara Lokesh, a Stanford graduate who respects institutional integrity, and Jagan, whose legacy involves making teachers guard liquor shops and forcing them to photograph bathrooms.
Detailing the foolproof security of the Mega DSC, Rao explained that NCERT experts prepared 42,000 questions in a highly secure room where computer passwords were changed daily. He dismissed the YSRCP’s cheap allegations that outsourced employees drafted the papers, noting that Nara Lokesh had already given a detailed, transparent explanation of the entire process in the Assembly. He reminded the public that Chandrababu Naidu holds a proud track record of conducting 14 DSCs and providing teacher jobs to 1.96 lakh people over the years.
Concluding the briefing, the MLA noted that even after the High Court reprimanded the YSRCP for filing frivolous cases against the Mega DSC, Jagan’s attitude hasn’t changed. He warned that the public, who brutally reduced the YSRCP from 151 seats down to just 11, is watching these desperate tactics closely. By continuing to mock the struggles of unemployed youth, Rao warned that the YSRCP is setting itself up to face a severe backlash in the upcoming local body elections.
