Former National Federation of Newspaper Employees south zone secy Parvathy, 73, is no more
Theformer south zone secretary of NFNE Parvathy Mahadevan, passed away recently in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
Parvathy, (73) who was South Zone Secretary for National Federation of Newspaper Employees (NFNE), Chennai, since 1994 and staff of The Financial Express is survived by a son and two daughters.
She attained Mukti after visiting Mukthinath in October 2023. She was settled in the US with her son and was on a visit to India. She was on a pilgrimage. After visiting Ayodhya she developed complications and was rushed to a private hospital in Lucknow. She breathed her last on October 20.
NFNE is the sister organisation of the IFWJ.
She was a highly committed trade unionist and had worked very hard to strengthen the plant-level unions in the Hindu and the Indian Express newspapers. She used to attend all conferences and meetings of the IFWJ and the NFNE and was victimised by the Management for her trade union activities.
The IFWJ President BV Mallikarjunaih, NFNE Secretary General Paritosh Mukhopadhyay, IFWJ Secretary General Parmanand Pandey, Former President of the Hindu Employees Union, Thiru E Gopal, IFWJ’s Convenor in the USA Narasimhan Kasthuri and IFWJ’s Secretary South K Asudhulla have deeply condoled her death. She is survived by two daughters and a son.
