రాష్ట్రంలోని జర్నలిస్టుల దీర్ఘకాలిక సమస్యల పరిష్కారం, సంక్షేమం కోసం దశలవారీ పోరాటానికి సిద్ధం కావాలని ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ వర్కింగ్ జర్నలిస్ట్స్ ఫెడరేషన్ (APWJF) పిలుపునిచ్చింది. ఉండి కృషి విజ్ఞాన కేంద్రంలో ఏపీడబ్ల్యూజేఎఫ్ జిల్లా అధ్యక్షులు గుండా రామకృష్ణ అధ్యక్షతన, ఉండి కమిటీ ఆధ్వర్యంలో ఉమ్మడి పశ్చిమ గోదావరి జిల్లా కార్యవర్గ, విస్తృత స్థాయి సంప్రదింపుల సమావేశం మంగళవారం(22-09-2026) ఘనంగా జరిగింది.
ఈ సమావేశంలో ముఖ్య అతిథిగా పాల్గొన్న ఏపీడబ్ల్యూజేఎఫ్ రాష్ట్ర ప్రధాన కార్యదర్శి జి. ఆంజనేయులు మాట్లాడుతూ ప్రజాస్వామ్యంలో నాల్గవ స్తంభమైన పాత్రికేయ రంగాన్ని కాపాడాలంటే జర్నలిస్టులకు సామాజిక, ఆర్థిక భద్రతతో పాటు కనీస ఆశ్రయం కల్పించడం అత్యంత ఆవశ్యకమని స్పష్టం చేశారు. అర్హులైన జర్నలిస్టులకు ప్రభుత్వం ప్రకటించిన 3 సెంట్ల ఇళ్ల స్థలాల కేటాయింపు ప్రక్రియను నిర్దిష్ట గడువులోగా వేగవంతం చేయాలని డిమాండ్ చేశారు.
దేశవ్యాప్తంగా 19 రాష్ట్రాల్లో జర్నలిస్టులకు పెన్షన్ విధానం అమలవుతోందని, ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్లోనూ సుమారు వెయ్యి మంది అర్హులైన విశ్రాంత జర్నలిస్టులకు గౌరవప్రదమైన పెన్షన్ అందించేలా ప్రభుత్వం వెంటనే చర్యలు చేపట్టాలని కోరారు. ప్రజాస్వామ్యబద్ధంగా జరిగే ప్రతి విలేకరుల సమావేశంలో పాలకులు, అధికారులను ఇళ్ల స్థలాలు, పెన్షన్లపై జర్నలిస్టులు నిలదీయాలని పిలుపునిచ్చారు.

ఇళ్ల స్థలాల తక్షణ పంపిణీ:
అర్హులైన జర్నలిస్టులకు 3 సెంట్ల స్థలాన్ని గుర్తించి వెంటనే పట్టాలు అందజేయాలి. పరిపాలనాపరమైన జాప్యాన్ని నివారించాలి.
పెన్షన్ & రైల్వే పాసులు:
విశ్రాంత జర్నలిస్టులకు పెన్షన్ పథకం అమలు చేయడంతో పాటు గతంలో ఉన్న రైల్వే రాయితీ పాసులను పునరుద్ధరించాలి.
ఆరోగ్య భద్రత & అక్రెడిటేషన్లు:
గ్రామీణ, పట్టణ ప్రాంత రిపోర్టర్లందరికీ క్యాష్లెస్ హెల్త్ కార్డులు, ప్రమాద బీమా వర్తింపజేయాలి. రాజకీయ వివక్ష లేకుండా ప్రింట్, ఎలక్ట్రానిక్, డిజిటల్ మీడియా జర్నలిస్టులకు అక్రెడిటేషన్ కార్డులు, బస్సు పాసులు మంజూరు చేయాలి.
జర్నలిస్టుల రక్షణ – వెల్ఫేర్ బోర్డు:
విలేకరులపై దాడులను అరికట్టేందుకు గతంలో ఉన్న హైపవర్ కమిటీని పునరుద్ధరించాలి. జర్నలిస్టుల సంక్షేమం కోసం ప్రత్యేకంగా ‘జర్నలిస్ట్స్ వెల్ఫేర్ బోర్డు’ను ఏర్పాటు చేయాలి.
ఈ సమావేశంలో ‘ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్ మధ్యతరహా, చిన్న దినపత్రికలు, పీరియాడికల్స్ పాత్రికేయుల సంఘం’ అధ్యక్షులు పి. హుస్సేన్ ఖాన్ పాల్గొని చిన్న పత్రికలు, పాత్రికేయులు ఎదుర్కొంటున్న సమస్యలను వివరించి, ప్రభుత్వం క్రింది డిమాండ్లను పరిష్కరించాలని కోరారు.
* చిన్న ప్రచురణకర్తల రక్షణ కోసం ప్రత్యేక కార్పొరేషన్ ఏర్పాటు చేసి తక్కువ వడ్డీకి రుణాలు ఇవ్వాలి.
* ముఖ్యమంత్రి నార చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు గతంలో ఇచ్చిన హామీ మేరకు ప్రభుత్వ ప్రకటనలలో 30% వాటాను చిన్న, మధ్యతరహా పత్రికలకు కేటాయించడం తప్పనిసరి చేయాలి.
* జాతీయ స్థాయి సీబీసీ విధానాన్ని అనుసరించి ఆన్లైన్లో ప్రకటనల బిల్లుల అప్లోడ్ విధానాన్ని తేవాలి.
* ఎంపానల్మెంట్ ప్రక్రియను ఏడాదికి రెండుసార్లు నిర్వహించి, వార, పక్ష, మాస పత్రికలను భాగస్వామ్యం చేయాలి.
* ప్రముఖుల పర్యటనల వార్తల కవరేజ్లో చిన్న పత్రికలకు తగిన ప్రాతినిధ్యం కల్పించాలి.
* చిన్న పత్రికలలో పనిచేసి సేవలందించిన సీనియర్ పాత్రికేయులకు పెన్షన్లు, ప్రమాద బీమా సౌకర్యం కల్పించాలి.
* పాత్రికేయులకు స్కిల్ డెవలప్మెంట్ శిక్షణ ఇవ్వడంతో పాటు, మీడియా అకాడమీ పాలకమండలిలో సముచిత స్థానం కల్పించాలి.
ఈ సమస్యల పరిష్కారం కోసం రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం సమగ్ర ప్రణాళికను రూపొందించి, అధికారులతో ఉన్నత స్థాయి సమావేశాన్ని ఏర్పాటు చేయాలని సంఘం ప్రభుత్వాన్ని కోరారు.

UNDI / BHIMAVARAM (September 23, 2026) —
The Andhra Pradesh Working Journalists’ Federation (APWJF) has called on media personnel across the state to prepare for an agitation to achieve their long-pending rights, economic security, and social welfare. The call was issued during the APWJF Joint West Godavari District Executive Committee and extended consultative meeting held on Tuesday at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Undi.
Presided over by District President Gunda Ramakrishna and organized under the leadership of the Undi Committee, the meeting brought together regional leaders, union representatives, and working journalists from print, electronic, and digital media platforms across the undivided West Godavari district.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, APWJF State General Secretary G. Anjaneyulu asserted that protecting the freedom of the press—the fourth pillar of democracy—requires ensuring basic shelter and social security for media professionals. He urged the state government to expedite the allocation and distribution of title deeds for the promised 3 cents of house plots to eligible journalists without administrative bottlenecks.
Highlighting that 19 states in India currently provide pension benefits to working journalists, Anjaneyulu called on the Andhra Pradesh government to immediately roll out a monthly pension scheme for approximately 1,000 eligible retired media professionals in the state. He also appealed to working journalists to hold authorities and elected representatives accountable regarding housing and pensions during every official press interaction.
Key Demands and Resolutions
The executive committee unanimously resolved to demand immediate state government intervention on the following core issues:

Time-Bound Land Allocation: Eliminate bureaucratic delays and immediately identify and distribute title deeds for 3 cents of residential land to all eligible journalists.

Retirement Pensions & Travel Concessions: Introduce a structured monthly pension scheme for retired journalists and restore previous railway travel concessions.

Comprehensive Health & Life Security: Provide unconditional cashless health coverage, enhanced accidental insurance, and financial relief for families of deceased journalists.

Transparent Accreditation: Grant press accreditations and state bus passes transparently and without political bias to all working journalists across print, electronic, and digital media.

Safety & Institutional Backing: Reconstitute the High-Power Committee to counter physical attacks and intimidation against media personnel, alongside the formal creation of a dedicated Journalists’ Welfare Board.
Protection for Small & Medium Periodicals
Participating in the session, P. Hussain Khan, President of the Andhra Pradesh Medium and Small Daily Newspapers and Periodicals Journalists Association, highlighted the acute financial vulnerabilities faced by grassroots publishers and placed key sector-specific demands before the administration:

Dedicated Corporation: Establish an independent corporation to support small publications with low-interest credit facilities.

Mandatory Ad Quota: Implement the 30% government advertisement allocation for small and medium newspapers, in line with commitments made by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

Digital Billing: Introduce a centralized online billing system modeled after the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) framework.

Biannual Empanelment: Conduct government empanelment drives twice a year, ensuring equitable inclusion for medium, small dailies, weekly, fortnightly, and monthly periodicals.

Welfare & Representation: Guarantee equitable press-corps access during VVIP official dignitary visits, grant pensions and insurance to veteran regional publishers, and secure institutional representation on the Media Academy governing body.

The meeting was addressed by prominent union leaders and political representatives, including APWJF Founding Member A.
