BIG MILESTONE: Jagananna Aarogya Suraksha Shatters Records; Over 3.15 Lakh Citizens Flock to Camps in a Single Day
Under the visionary leadership of CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Andhra Pradesh Government embarked on a transformative initiative, ‘Jagananna Aarogya Suraksha’, from September 30th aimed at revolutionizing healthcare accessibility and quality across the state. This pioneering campaign is aimed to eradicate preventable health challenges, transcending societal barriers of class, caste, religion, gender, and economic disparity. At its core, the government’s unwavering commitment lies in ensuring that every citizen receives equal access to superior healthcare and indispensable support, solidifying the belief that health is a fundamental right for all.
Envisioned to encompass all 1.6 crore households in the state, this far-reaching endeavour has been taken up in the form of Jagananna Aarogya Suraksha camps at over 10,000 locations, offering comprehensive coverage across all 15,004 secretariats within Andhra Pradesh.
As of the latest update on October 17, a remarkable 7,496 camps have been successfully organized, providing essential healthcare to over 32.7 lakh citizens. Notably, on a single day (Oct 17), an astounding count of more than 3.15 lakh citizens participated in these camps, setting a new record surpassing the previous attendance of 2.6 lakh citizens.
Furthermore, the healthcare initiative has engaged the medical community extensively, collaborating with specialized doctors from prominent organizations such as the Indian Medical Association, Arogyasri Network Hospitals Association, and Andhra Pradesh Super Speciality Hospital Association. These medical experts are delivering exceptional care to the citizens, resulting in over 31.40 lakh individuals seeking consultations and experiencing improved healthcare services.
In a concerted effort to facilitate the smooth execution of this campaign at the grassroots, the state government has mobilized an impressive team of over 21,000 dedicated Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) and Community Health Officers (CHOs). These professionals are tasked with conducting extensive health screenings, a vital step in the initiative’s success. As of now, an impressive 3.52 Crore citizens have completed their health screenings, underscoring the broad reach and impact of the program. Moreover, this extensive network of ANMs and CHOs has effectively reached out to and covered more than 1.35 Crore households, ensuring a comprehensive approach to healthcare at the grassroots level.
During the household screening, citizens undergo a series of 7 rapid tests designed to diagnose a variety of chronic and communicable diseases, ensuring a comprehensive health assessment. In the most recent update, an impressive tally of over 5.94 Crore rapid tests have been conducted for the citizens of Andhra Pradesh, highlighting the extensive reach and magnitude of this vital healthcare initiative.
