Rajadhani Vartalu Condemns Restrictions on Media Entry Passes for Dasara Festivities at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Temple

Rajadhani Vartalu has strongly criticized the decision of the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh to restrict entry passes for journalists covering the Sarannavaratrulu (Dasara) festival at the revered Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Temple on Indrakeeladri.
With the state government anticipating an influx of approximately 25 lakh pilgrims over the course of the 9-day festival, the restrictions placed on media personnel have raised serious concerns regarding transparency, public information, and the freedom of the press.
Rajadhani Vartalu firmly asserts that the presence of journalists on the ground is vital. When millions of devotees are expected to visit the shrine, the primary objective of allowing reporters is to provide real-time updates, monitor crowd management, report essential pilgrim facilities, and keep the public informed.
Creating bureaucratic hurdles for a few hundred local reporters from the erstwhile Krishna and Guntur districts is both imprudent and counterproductive. Ground-level reporters play an irreplaceable role in capturing the essence, scale, and day-to-day happenings of the mega-event. If the government genuinely desires wide and transparent public outreach, it must facilitate unobstructed reporting access rather than imposing restrictions.
Rajadhani Vartalu urges the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the I&PR Department to immediately reconsider their stance and streamline the issuance of media passes without hesitation. Specifically, the publication recommends:
Unconditional Issuance:
Granting necessary entry passes to all eligible accredited journalists and crew members from print and electronic media.
Inclusive Representation:
Ensuring that reporters and photojournalists from small and medium-sized newspapers are fully included, recognizing their crucial contribution to grassroots journalism. Providing a standard allocation of two passes per media organization—one for the reporter and one for the photographer—to ensure comprehensive ground coverage.
The press plays a pivotal role as a bridge between the administration and the public, especially during major state festivals. Rajadhani Vartalu calls upon the authorities to act swiftly and ensure that journalists are welcomed, not restricted, in serving the public interest this Dasara.

ప్రింట్ , ఎలక్ట్రానిక్ మీడియాకు చెందిన అర్హతగల గుర్తింపు పొందిన జర్నలిస్టులు, సిబ్బంది అందరికీ అవసరమైన ప్రవేశ పాస్లను మంజూరు చేయాలి.
సమగ్ర ప్రాతినిధ్యం: చిన్న, మధ్య తరహా ,ఇతర (వార, పక్ష, మాస) వార్తాపత్రికల రిపోర్టర్లు, ఫోటో జర్నలిస్టులు క్షేత్రస్థాయి జర్నలిజానికి అందిస్తున్న సేవలను గుర్తించి వారికి పూర్తిస్థాయిలో ప్రాతినిధ్యం కల్పించాలి.
కనీస కేటాయింపు:
సమగ్రమైన క్షేత్రస్థాయి కవరేజీని నిర్ధారించడానికి, ప్రతి చిన్న మీడియా సంస్థకు ప్రామాణికంగా రెండు పాస్లను (ఒకటి రిపోర్టర్కు, మరొకటి ఫోటోగ్రాఫర్కు/వీడియో గ్రాఫర్కు) కేటాయించాలి.
