SIT investigation on capital lands will continue as usual: Home Minister Taneti Vanitha
We welcome the Supreme Court verdict.
– If nothing wrong happened in the previous government why fear..?
– No convict can escape.. Truth will always win: Home Minister Taneti Vanita
State Home Minister and Disaster Management Minister Dr. Taneti Vanitha said that they respect and welcome the Supreme Court’s decision not to re-investigate the government’s appeal for the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigation into the Amaravati land scam. A statement was released from the Kovvuru minister camp office on Wednesday. He said that the state government has challenged in the Supreme Court the decision of the Andhra Pradesh High Court imposing a ‘stay’ on the formation of the SIT in connection with the corruption of the previous government. The Home Minister questioned why the investigation was blocked at the initial stage if there were no irregularities in major policy decisions and huge projects including the Amaravati land scam when Chandrababu Naidu was the Chief Minister in the previous government.
Y. S. on the Amaravati land scam, Dalit assigned lands, irregularities in the outer ring road, violations of norms in huge projects and other issues that happened in the previous government. He asked what is the need to go to the High Court and get a stay when the SIT was formed and the investigation was being conducted in the government under the leadership of Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said that the leaders of the previous government got a stay on the sit established by this government. They said that a stay was obtained in the High Court while the preliminary investigation was under way.. If there was no corruption and no irregularities in the previous government, what is the problem in facing the investigation? He asked. He said that he got a stay because he was afraid that he had done something wrong. They want to prove their honesty by facing the investigation. He said that he had obtained a stay from the High Court to stay in the preliminary investigation because he was afraid that the corruption and irregularities during Chandrababu Naidu’s regime would come to light if the investigation was conducted. He said that corruption and irregularities in land acquisitions had been brought before the assembly when the ministerial sub-committee had been made on this issue in the past as well. All those matters have been discussed and brought to the public’s attention as a witness of the assembly. He reminded that the Supreme Court has commented that it is not right to give a stay at the preliminary stage of the investigation. Every matter that happened in the capital region will be investigated transparently. He said that none of the guilty can escape and truth will always prevail. Chief Minister Y.S. Taneti Vanitha said that under Jagan Mohan Reddy’s regime, the state will develop in all aspects.
