BJP leader Amit Malviya trolled Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for not holding attention while National Anthem was underway during the celebrations of Constitution Day in Parliament Central Hall.

“Rahul Gandhi can’t hold his attention for even 50 seconds and he had the audacity to make an absolutely distasteful comment on the President of United States,” Amit Malviya wrote on X, sharing a video of the Congress leader.

“False cases are being filed against the MP there, the MLA there and his son. If there is any fault, it is the government’s. When the survey had already been done, why to do it again? And even if the survey had to be done again, they could have sat together and discussed. The remaining points could have been re-surveyed after discussion. We were not against the survey but the people who were shouting slogans behind the team during the survey, was any action taken against them? Were there any BJP workers with the survey team who were instigating people? Were they arrested? Will they be sent to jail? No one can go there. LoPs of both Houses want to visit Sambhal but they are not allowed to go. All our MPs want to go to Sambhal but we are not allowed…,”

‘Fight to save Constitution will continue,’ says Kejriwal

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has emerged stronger due to its “honesty and love of the people”, party supremo and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said on the foundation day of the party on Tuesday, asserting the fight to save the Constitution and democracy will continue.

In a post on X, the former chief minister said the common man found its strength with the founding the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) 12 years ago.

He said the journey so far was filled with the stories of struggle, sacrifice and victory.

“In last one year lakhs of attempts were made to finish us but our honesty, love of the people and morale of the workers made us stronger. We stand stronger than before against injustice and dictatorship”, Kejriwal said in a post in Hindi.

Murmu recalled that President of India Rajendra Prasad had said keeping the Constitution alive depends on the people who govern it. “I can confidently say that our country has lived up to his aspirations. The experiences we have gained are important for future children to experience,” President Murmu said.

“Celebrations like these give us an opportunity to better the journey ahead… We are together in achieving national goals…,” President Droupadi Murmu said while addressing both Houses at Parliament Central Hall on the occasion of 75th Samvidhan Diwas.

Celebrations begin at Parliament Central Hall

Addressing an event organised on the occasion of Constitution Day in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said, “India’s Constitution has witnessed many ups and downs in the last 75 years. People have not hesitated in teaching a lesson to those who tried strangling the Constitution.”

The original Constitution drafted by Dr. BR Ambedkar did not mention two words – ‘secular’ and ‘socialist’, CM Adityanath said.

“The Congress, during the Emergency, put these words surreptitiously in the Constitution,” he added.

Highlighting the significance of Constitution Day in India, Congress leader KC Venugopal said on X, the Constitution is a living document that embodies India’s soul and history, promoting justice, equality, inclusivity, and democracy.

Venugopal acknowledges the contributions of visionaries like Dr. Ambedkar, Pandit Nehru, and others in shaping the Constitution.

Venugopal also took a veiled dig at the BJP-led central government, saying, “At a time when those out to destroy the Constitution are showing insincere commitment towards it, our duty to protect it and fight for its true values becomes all the more relevant.”

Shah says Constitution is a ‘mantra of national unity’

“Today India is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Constitution with great enthusiasm… The strength of democracy of a huge country like India is our Constitution, which gives the mantra of national unity and integrity by ensuring justice and equal rights to every person,” Amit Shah said in a post on X.

“We believe that the Constitution is not just a book to be displayed on stage, but it is the key to make the highest contribution to public life by internalizing it with full devotion. Come! On this Constitution Day, let us pledge to build a strong, prosperous and self-reliant India,” Shah added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings on the occasion of the 75th Samvidhan Diwas or ‘Constitution Day’ .

Taking on X, PM Modi posted, “Happy Constitution Day to all countrymen on the auspicious occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution. #75YearsOfConstitution”.
