AIIMS Mangalagiri commemorated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 2nd December 2025, organised by the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Ahanthem Santa Singh, Executive Director, AIIMS Mangalagiri.
Aligned with this year’s global theme, “Fostering Disability-Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress,” the event aimed to promote disability awareness, strengthen inclusivity, and advance multidisciplinary collaboration in rehabilitation care.

An interdisciplinary awareness session was also conducted focusing on multiple forms of disabilities, including locomotor disability, visual impairment, hearing impairment, and intellectual disability. Experts from the Departments of PMR, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, and Psychiatry contributed to the session.
The programme was chaired by the Dean of Academics, Dean of Examination, Deputy Director (Administration), and the Principal, College of Nursing.
