The dispute between Ibrahimpatnam, G. Konduru Quarry Crushers Association and NTR District Mining Officer has become a topic of discussion in the district. The leaders of the Quarry Crushers Association have complained to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to take action against the NTR District Officer who is obstructing the road metal for the capital city Amaravati project. In this context, the Mining Officer has issued a notice stating that several irregularities have been committed in Pemmasani Infratech India Private Limited and that action will be taken if an explanation is not given within 15 days. It seems that this dispute has arisen for money.

The Ibrahimpatnam and G. Konduru Quarry Crushers Association has created a sensation by filing a complaint with CM N. Chandrababu Naidu against NTR District Mining Officer Srinivas. This is the first time that the Crushers Association has written a letter against an officer. The complaint has become a topic of discussion in the context of providing metal for huge projects being undertaken in the capital Amaravati. Although the Mines Department has issued a memo to allocate free permits to supply road metal to government projects, the Crushers Association has stated in its complaint that the district officer is not implementing it. It has expressed concern that due to severe delay in processing renewals, permits and other important files, the operations of the crushers units have to be stopped. It has demanded a departmental vigilance inquiry against the mining officer.
District Officer Show Cause Notice to Association Leader:
In the wake of the complaint of Crushers Association, District Mining Officer Srinivas has issued a show cause notice to Pemmasani Sridhar, a key leader of the Association. It has been clarified that Pemmasani Infratech India Private Limited of Re Survey No. 49/1 in Loya village of G. Konduru mandal is evading the sewage drainage fee and the show cause notice is being issued on the basis of several complaints received against the company. Along with the office inspection reports, many complaints given by people have been cited in it. The notice states that illegal quarrying activities have been detected and there are allegations that LR Verma Quarry lease area of 8.418 hectares in Survey No. 26/2 has been encroached upon. He stated that violations have been committed in stone crushing, road metal stacking and transportation in Survey No. 49/1. He said that two stone crushers have been found operating in the same survey number. When asked to show the mineral dealer license and GST registration during the inspection, the staff said they were not aware of it and also included the details of the stock they had identified in the notice. He questioned why action should not be taken against you for illegal storage. He clarified that extracting, transporting and storing minerals without legal permission falls under rule 26(1)(c) of the APMMC Act. He warned that if an explanation is not given within 15 days of the notice, action will have to be taken without any prior notice.
A quarry owner, who declined to be identified, alleged that money was paid through back doors at every stage of the quarry lease. From movement of files to survey, from LOI to planning design, to lease permissions, to renewal. Several lakhs of rupees change hands, including with officials, for the approval of a single file lease. Many quarry owners succumb to threats from officials and comply with them, otherwise they fear false penalties on their quarries with or without good reason. In this context, the quarry owners and their associations are appealing to the state government to intervene and resolve the issues raised by the quarry owners and take appropriate action against the erring officials who are acting in official favor of the culprits.
