Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone has recorded exports to the tune of Rs.1,04,278 crores – Srinivas Muppaala, Zonal Development Commissioner

Visakhapatnam Special Economic Jone (VSEZ), Zonal Development Commissioner Srinivas Muppaala, IRSME in a press release has stated that VSEZ has recorded exports to the tune of Rs.1,04,278 crores during the period April-September’ 2023 recording an increase of 30% over the previous year for the corresponding period i.e., 2022-23. Of this, services exports are Rs.76,413 crores and merchandise exports are Rs.28,315 crores. Services exports grew by 34% while merchandise exports increased by 21% over the previous year for the corresponding period.
Employment:
VSEZ has attracted investment of Rs.1,04,961 crores and generated employment of 6,61,579 people as on 30.06.2023.
New SEZ Unit proposals
He has informed that during the 2nd quarter (Jul-Sept’2023)11 new SEZ Unit proposals and two EOU proposals have been granted approval for setting up of units in the state of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. These units will make an investment of Rs.167 crores and provide employment to 4048 people.
Five new SEZ unit in AP
In Andhra Pradesh five new SEZ unit proposals have been granted approvals – M/s.Akshara Metals Pvt. Limited for manufacture of gold Jewellery and Polishing of Diamonds, M/s.Gaia Crew Pvt. Limited for trading of Biodegradable cutlery, M/s. Lee Health Domain for manufacture of Neutraceuticals, M/s.Salgo Minerals for Heavy Minerals, M/s.Tanmayee Logistics for Warehousing and auxiliary services. .
Telangana
In Telangana state, 6 new SEZ Unit proposals have been granted approval 1). M/s. FedEx Express Transportation and Supply Chain Services (India) Pvt. Ltd., 2). M/s. De Novo Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd 3). M/s. DigitalOps Technology Pvt. Ltd 4). M/s. Minfy Technologies Pvt. Ltd 5). M/s. Terafina Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd 6). M/s. Mphasis Limited (u-3). All the above units will set up for rendering IT/IT Enabled Services. Two EOU proposals M/s.Granules Life Sciences Limited Pvt. Limited for manufacture of Pharmaceutical products and M/s.Protouch Staffing Pvt. Limited for Back Office operations.
