– **Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu Lashes Out**
Amaravati, April 9:
State Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu strongly condemned YCP Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy, asserting that every decision taken by him—during his tenure in the previous government—has damaged the lives of the people and the state’s economy. He alleged that due to Jagan’s actions, industries fled the state, the youth were left without jobs, and the hard work of farmers lost its value. Speaking at a media conference held at the AP Secretariat in Amaravati on Thursday, Minister Atchannaidu launched a scathing attack on the YCP supremo. He lashed out at Jagan, accusing him of betraying the people’s trust and financially weakening the state by increasing the burden of debt under the guise of welfare schemes. He remarked that the concept of “development” has remained merely a word, while on the ground, only destruction is clearly visible. He lashed out at Jagan, describing him as an individual who would mortgage his own family, society, and even the state itself for the sake of political power. Atchannaidu remarked that by observing Jagan, one can clearly understand how a single individual’s behavior can tear families apart, sow discord within society, and ignite animosity between different regions and castes.
He criticized Jagan, noting that while the state witnessed a “Golden Era” under the leadership of CM Chandrababu Naidu between 2014 and 2019, Jagan—who rose to power in 2019 by pleading for “just one chance“—has since driven the state to ruin. He alleged that Jagan has corrupted every institutional system within the state and completely devastated its economy. He further stated that in 2024, the people delivered a stern lesson to Jagan and handed a resounding victory to the NDA government led by CM Chandrababu Naidu. He asserted that within a mere 22 months, they have successfully steered the state back on track, driving both development and welfare initiatives forward in tandem. He questioned Jagan’s intense animosity toward the state, pointing out that the government is actively working for the development of all regions—providing water to Rayalaseema and completing irrigation projects across the entire state. Atchannaidu alleged that Jagan has no objective other than holding office, and that he would sacrifice anyone or anything to secure the Chief Minister’s chair.
He recalled that when the helicopter carrying Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy went missing, the entire state was gripped by anxiety; even Chandrababu Naidu had personally made special efforts to locate him at that time. However, he noted—a fact known to everyone—that during that very same period, Jagan was preoccupied with collecting signatures in a bid to claim the Chief Minister’s post. He demanded answers to questions surrounding the death of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, noting that numerous suspicions still linger regarding the incident—specifically asking where Jagan was on that fateful day and why he was present in other states. He recalled that, at the time, several senior leaders had openly voiced suspicions regarding Jagan’s potential involvement in Y.S.’s death; Botsa Satyanarayana, too, had made public comments to this effect. “We did not take those remarks very seriously back then,” Achannaidu stated, “but observing Jagan’s subsequent conduct, our suspicions have only intensified.” Referring to the murder of Vivekananda Reddy, he made scathing remarks, accusing Jagan of brutally killing his own uncle and subsequently exploiting that tragedy for political gain. He further pointed out that Jagan is the kind of person who would even cast out his own mother and sister. “How can a person who shows no respect even to his own family members be expected to respect the people of the state?” he questioned.
He also exposed Jagan’s duplicitous stance regarding the state capital, Amaravati. He criticized Jagan for initially accepting Amaravati as the capital, only to plunge the state into chaos after assuming power by proposing a “three capitals” formula. He accused Jagan of mortgaging the hopes of the people and the sacrifices made by the farmers.
“Amaravati is the sole capital of the state. Across the nation—cutting across party lines and regional boundaries—people from all walks of life have expressed their support for Amaravati. Yet, Jagan has chosen to incite regional animosities, thereby dragging the state backward,” he asserted. Achannaidu declared that the public would no longer place their trust in Jagan, noting that even members of his own party now view him as nothing more than a “joker.” He characterized Jagan as an erratic individual whose words change by the minute—someone who holds absolutely no value for his own commitments.
He made scathing remarks, stating that for the sake of power, he mortgaged his family, his party, and even the state itself. To restore the state to its former glory, individuals of this ilk must have no place in politics. The people of Andhra Pradesh are highly astute; they granted him an opportunity once. Minister Atchannaidu asserted that the public has already reached a definitive verdict: Jagan will never again have the chance to ascend to power in his lifetime.
