‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’: Governor Abdul Nazeer plants sapling in Raj Bhavan
Vijayawada, June 05: Governor of Andhra Pradesh Sri S. Abdul Nazeer has planted a Sapota (Sapodilla) sapling in Raj Bhavan lawns here on World Environment Day, on Thursday.
Governor Sri Abdul Nazeer participated in the sapling plantation programme under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative coinciding with World Environment Day. Speaking on the occasion the Governor said “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” launched by Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi, is an effort to show our respect and dedication towards our motherland and nature. He said the aim of this campaign is to plant a tree in the name of a mother and create a lasting memory, which will not only protect the environment but also contribute to building a greener and healthier future for coming generations. He said everyone should become a part of “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign and plant a tree to create an unforgettable memory for your mother.
Sri P. Surya Prakash, Joint Secretary to Governor and other officers and staff members of Raj Bhavan were also present on the occasion.
