Amaravati Quantum Hub will emerge as the premier quantum hub

Amaravati, March 31:
During a roundtable meeting held on Tuesday at the AP Secretariat regarding the “Amaravati Quantum Valley—Quantum Hardware Production Ecosystem,” Dr. J.V.B. Reddy, Director of the National Quantum Mission, lauded the initiative. He stated that in alignment with the National Quantum Mission established under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s launch of the Amaravati Quantum Mission is a highly commendable proactive step.
Dr. Reddy highlighted that significant measures are being taken to develop quantum technology in partnership with organizations like IBM and TCS, noting that thousands of students have already received training. He assured that the National Quantum Mission would provide full cooperation and support to the Andhra Pradesh Quantum Mission. He also praised the arrangements being made in Amaravati for Quantum Computer testing on April 14. With numerous leading companies and startups participating, Dr. Reddy expressed confidence that the Amaravati Quantum Mission will stand out as the country’s best quantum hub in the near future.

Global Ambitions: State Quantum Mission Director C.V. Sridhar explained the roadmap, stating the goal is to position the Amaravati Quantum Mission among the top 5 quantum hubs in the world by 2030.

Infrastructure Development: * An integrated infrastructure featuring 8 towers is being constructed in the Amaravati Quantum Valley.

Two of these towers are specifically dedicated to the Quantum Technology Hardware Operational System.

An Innovation Center is expected to be operational by October.

Upcoming Milestones: Quantum computer testing is scheduled to take place at Medha Tower and SRM University on April 14.

Expert Insights: * Professor V. Kamakoti (Chairman of the AP Quantum Mission Apex Committee and Director of IIT Madras) participated virtually, noting that operational linkages with IBM and TCS are progressing well. He predicted that over 1,000 startups would arrive within the next three years and emphasized the need for integrated infrastructure and incentives.

The meeting saw participation from representatives of C-DAC, C-DOT, Qubit Force, and SRM University, along with state officials including Industries and Commerce Secretary Yuvaraj and IT department authorities.
