Coalition govt focus on income generating avenues to uplift poor: CM
CM praises Vinukonda as land of valour and vibration
Vinukonda: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that the government is making efforts for income generating avenues to keep the poor happy.
Participating in the Swachhandhra–Swarnandhra
programme at Vinukonda of Palnadu district today, he called upon everyone to become partners in the programme.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said, we have organized the Swachhandhra programme in Palnadu, the land of valour and vibration. Recently, the Maha Shivaratri celebrations at Kotappakonda were held with great enthusiasm and witnessed massive participation of devotees. Under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Minister Narayana, Swachhandhra activities are being carried out effectively across the state.
When I assumed office as Chief Minister, about 108 lakh metric tonnes of waste had accumulated in the state. During rains, this waste seeped into the ground, contaminating groundwater. Door-to-door waste collection is being carried out in 97 per cent of municipalities. By next month, we will achieve 100 per cent door-to-door waste collection in all panchayats. Around 4,14,004 families are practicing home composting and 4,19,288 terrace gardens have been developed. Waste-to-Energy plants worth Rs 1,254 crore under PPP mode in Rajahmundry, Kurnool, Kadapa, and Nellore will be operational by March 15, the Chief Minister stated. At the same time banned single-use plastic in the state. We are processing solid waste to create wealth and generate electricity from waste.
Waste-to-energy plants are already functioning in Visakhapatnam and Guntur. We will soon set up five more plants, including one in Rajahmundry to generate electricity from waste.
In the coming days, the NDA government is prepared to bring major changes in the state. As promised, the Super Six schemes have been successfully implemented.
The Chief Minister advised farmers to cultivate crops that fetch remunerative prices instead of continuing traditional low-income crops. We are familiarizing farmers with technology and will provide AI-based agricultural expert guidance and training. During his recent visit, Bill Gates appreciated our use of technology. Our state ranks first in the country in micro-irrigation. We are developing Rayalaseema as a horticulture hub, and Vinukonda will also be developed as part of this initiative. He said the government’s goal is to economically uplift the poorest sections of society. Already, under the P4 initiative, one lakh mentors have adopted ten lakh poor families.
The Chief Minister said that he attended the AI summit held in Delhi, where Prime Minister Modi invited major global companies. Representatives from around 60 countries participated. The summit highlighted how AI is transforming sectors like education, healthcare, and agriculture. While such a significant summit was being organized, the behaviour of the Congress party was appalling. At a time when the world is moving forward in technology, parties that should protect the interests of youth resorted to indecent protests, which deeply pained him. He strongly condemned such conduct as it harms the nation.
The Chief Minister said Amaravati will be developed as a Quantum Valley. The 100-bed hospital in Vinukonda will be upgraded . A trauma care centre and dialysis centre will be established. We will examine the establishment of agriculture and veterinary colleges in Vinukonda and modernize the bus stand,” the Chief Minister said.
Earlier he felicitated sanitation workers for their services. Swachh Rath driver Durgarao from Dachepalli and Lakshmi Govindamma from the home composting section were honoured and presented with awards.
Ministers P Narayana, Gottipati Ravikumar, Swachhandhra Corporation Chairman Pattabhiram and several other leaders participated in the programme.
